The Brewing Process
1. Harvesting and Malting
The brewing journey at Bounty begins with the careful selection of grains, primarily barley, though wheat, oats, and rye are also utilized. These grains undergo malting, a process that allows them to partially germinate, forming the essential starches and enzymes necessary for fermentation.
2. Mashing
The malted grains are then combined with water in a process known as mashing. This step converts the starches into fermentable sugars, resulting in a sweet liquid called "wort." At Bounty, our beer begins in our grain silo and is converted into mash with the addition of water, ensuring a fresh and flavorful base for fermentation.
3. Fermentation and Aging
The wort is transferred to fermentation vessels, where yeast is added. The yeast consumes the sugars, producing alcohol and carbon dioxide. The beer is then aged in custom-designed brewhouse tanks, allowing flavors to develop and mature.
4. Serving Fresh Beer
Once the beer has reached its optimal flavor profile, it's ready to be served. We offer our brews in various sizes, including pints, half pints, and growlers for those who wish to enjoy their beer at home. Not sure what to try first? You can also sample all of our brews with a custom flight!
